The First Show for the Spring Fling Cash Series was a hit! With a total of 44 riders competing for the awards and 2 for times only, we had lots ready to compete and have fun on Saturday. Our Show Management was ready, starting with our workers promptly at 8:56 a.m. Brent Engelhardt and Rick Long has the ground and equipment ready for a smooth running show. Of course, I can’t forget the HUGE amount of help our new Judge Brian Bebiy gave us, he was worked hard but kept right on smiling!

Our office ladies were ready to keep things going all day long and we have to send out a BIG THANK YOU to Julie McDonald for helping Michele out in the booth. Its always fabulous to have the extra help, but even better to see you on the mend! At the beginning of the year we asked what we could do better and promised to put on more efficient shows and it appears we are hitting our goal! We ran 7 events, averaged 45 riders per event, started slightly before 9:00 a.m. and finished with the regular events at 2:06 p.m.! I know it seems a little quick and if we are going too fast, be sure to let us know. We don’t want to rush everybody, but also don’t want unnecessary down time.

You guys are doing awesome with the split arena and doing incredible with all the help you are giving us! A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HELP OUT!

We had a little problem with our cook shack ladies and still aren’t sure what happened, but we have been assured they will be with us next month. I’ll keep you guys posted!

Jaime Snyder was there to take pictures! Check them out, there are lots of great ones! JamieSnyderPhoto.PhotoReflect.com

We also had the Chiropractor, Michael Reuben join us. Many of us took advantage of his fabulous RCMM rates to work on not only our horses but also ourselves. Personally, I would highly recommend him; he did a fabulous job on Nacoma and even tuned up Freckles for Cassidy and Sadie for Brent. Sadie has never before allowed an adjustment to be made on her, and Michaels new techniques did the trick for her old lady bones. Brent and I took advantage of the Horse and Rider Deal he offered and we both were moving great afterwards.

Just a little reminder regarding parking around the arena – ONCE THE SHOW STARTS, THERE IS NO LEAVING OR RETURNING UNTIL ITS OVER. We had a lot of moving vehicles during the day and with our insurance requirements and our Parks & Rec Agreement, we can not allow it. There simply is not enough room for somebody to drive around when we have moving horses, spectators and the trucks and trailers already parked in that area. Please plan out your day and if you know you will have to leave early, please park in the main parking lot. We will be putting out cones to block traffic and stop vehicles from coming in 15 minutes before the show starts. Also, please ask your visitors to park in the overflow parking area; this is for their safety as well as their vehicles.

We are now using both arena gates, so we need to be sure there is no parking close to those gates. We have to keep this area open for the riders and their horses. We don’t want any injuries and some of these horses need the extra room.

Back to the show…. We have 44 riders qualifying for the Perfect Attendance Hay Bags, and that’s a really great start! Those riders also have a healthy jump on the series, but its early and with 3 shows to go, anything can happen! Don’t forget our raffle, for every regular event you ride, you will receive a raffle ticket for a RCMM LA County Fair Super Show – we are giving away 2 full shows!

Speedball Gymkhana is the action packed, precision sport of the equestrian world. A good Gymkhana horse must have the speed of a race horse, the turning quickness and agility of a cutting horse and the control and responsiveness of the stock horse.
