The RCMM Show Format

RCMM has decided to change our club format for this new season. We are trying a new, and exciting schedule to better reward our riders for a job well done.

Starting at the August Show:

All shows will be part of a Series. The first will be the Autumn Extravaganza which will be three shows; August, September and October. The overall high point winners in each division will win a Winter Hood and Blanket; Reserve – Winter Blanket. Other winners will be determined depending upon attendance.

The First Show is August 18th and will begin at 4:00 p.m. Barrel Show
Second Show of the series is September 15th and will begin at 2:00 p.m. Quad Show + Hurry Scurry
Last and final show is October 20th and winners will be announced at the conclusion of that show. Show will start at 9:00 a.m. – Barrel Show

What is a Series? A grouping of shows in which riders compete for higher quality awards. RCMM will start off with the Winter Blanket Series, then look into other possibilities such as saddle pads, silver dollars, bridles, port-a-stalls, saddles, etc.
$50 5D in every event! Very exciting! Included in your entry, all riders will be eligible for the 5D.
Note: $50 5D applies to 50 riders and above for an event, if there are less, the breakdown will be as follows:
40 – 49 Riders = $40 4D
39 and Less Riders = $30 3D
Day Ribbons and Medal Awards at Every Show! No more fund raisers!!

HURRY SCURRY IS BACK! To give our riders every opportunity to improve and compete with everyone in the State, RCMM is now including Hurry Scurry to its regular show lineup.

FC MINIS – Designed for the 10 and under Future Champion Riders and Lead Liners, this will be a non-competing class. Every rider will receive an end of day award and gift at the end of the series. Riders in FC Minis DO NOT COMPETE FOR SERIES PRIZES. But, they are included in the 5D and the will have lower entry fees: $30 for all day, add Hurry Scurry on for $5.00.

Our Divisions will run as follows starting with the first event on August 18th:
FC Minis
AAA+
AAA
AA
A
FC
The new lineup is designed to allow our youngest riders to get out and ride first while our workers are getting organized and the AAA+ are warming up. We hope this will also make it easier on their parents who won’t have to keep track of when they are due to ride!

Why is RCMM changing its Format? The Board of RCMM has decided its time to try something new. The old format only allowed riders who rode enough shows to qualify for year end awards to receive “large” prizes. We also found it wasn’t a true 5D format when only those riders who signed up for the 5D participated in it. The same thought went to the Jackpot Class. We want our riders to have more opportunities to win more and do well.

We also want our riders to have fun! If a rider is on a tight budget or has scheduling conflicts, they can choose the series they want to ride in and have the opportunity win great prizes.

What happens to the Jackpot Class? The $50 5D will replace the Jackpot Class.

What is the additional cost to enter the 5D? There is no additional cost. Everybody who enters the show will qualify for the 5D. The only exclusion would be a “Time Only” rider.

How does the “Series” format affect Year End Awards? RCMM feels this is a more fair competition for all riders. In order to achieve this and give out significant awards, RCMM will no longer have a Year End Award Program.

What would happen to extra money at the end of the year? Depending on the amount of money we have, RCMM hopes to host a catered “BBQ” at the end of the last show in July. We also are in need of tractor implements, as well as some equipment replacements.

I have a horse who runs AA and A times. How do I decide which division to ride in? Always strive for improvement. Go for the AA division and do your best to improve in the classes you are getting the A times in.

Will the Youth/Adult and Pony Divisions come back? If ridership dictates the divisions, we will return them. If, at the first show of a series, we have 7 ponies, or enough riders for at least 7 in each Youth/Adult class, we will divide the classes appropriately.

How will RCMM be notifying Riders of new Series and Show Schedules? Sign Up for our E-Mail List! We are going to be environmentally aware and not send out any more newsletters. We will be updating our web page often, emailing updates and news to our riders and keep the CGA office aware of our schedule to put on the CGA webpage. RCMM will also be forwarding the Series Schedules to the California Horse Trader for advertising in their paper and on their web page.

RCMM is planning an exciting new year!
Come join us for great competition, some fun, good friends, and lots of prizes!

Firgure 8 Flags Gymkhana is the action packed, precision sport of the equestrian world. A good Gymkhana horse must have the speed of a race horse, the turning quickness and agility of a cutting horse and the control and responsiveness of the stock horse.
